Hey! Nashy here 👋
Welcome to your weekly Thriving Newsletter!
Keeping you up to date with what’s happening in the city, highlighting local businesses, events and being your ‘boots on the ground’ telling Edinburgh stories and finding hidden gems.
Remember Snapfax? The pocket sized magnetic discount booklet we all had? Well the Thriving Card is on its way and it's got all those awesome Snapfax vibes. 🧡
130 local and independent Edinburgh businesses registered so far and testing has officially begun. We are getting closer and I cannot wait to share this with you all.
More coming across socials very soon. Watch this space. 👀
In the meantime, check out this week's ‘New Spot’ feature and if you haven't yet seen our ‘Thriving Property’ tour content, go take a look! Something a little different from us but we think you'll enjoy the high energy and fast pace.
This week's newsletter includes:
🔥New business SHOUT OUT!
🏪 Local business highlights
🏠Some selected Easter Camps for kids
📅 Weekend events worth shouting about
Let's get into it! 👇
THERE’S A NEW SPOT IN TOWN!
🚀 Stoodio Pop Up; Thistle Street’s latest addition.

Stoodio Pop Up has been launched by Susannah Law, owner of Stoodio Vintage.
Stoodio Vintage has moved further along Thistle Street to No.45, leaving 25A Thistle Street to become a Pop Up Shop.
A great spot for brand activations, content creation, short term lets and creative projects.
I will be in Stoodio Pop Up on Thursday 2nd April (today) until 4pm, talking all things social media, content creation and local business. If you are in or around central Edinburgh pop in and say hi!
🏡THRIVING PROPERTY TOURS
🎥Fast paced, authentic property tours.
For 20 years I worked in the Edinburgh property industry and it feels like a natural progression to bring that world into Keep Edinburgh Thriving. Property, prices and locations. People are always interested.
If this style of content lands well, I'll be rolling it out across residential and commercial properties as a paid service. Not only are we helping sellers, landlords and agents get more eyes on their listings, we’re bringing with it a NEW fast paced, high energy, relatable style, that feels a little different to the traditional channels.
Could I also help a new local business owner find their first bricks and mortier premises? That would be great!
This week alone Rightmove made the headlines. The cost to advertise on Rightmove and other online channels continue to soar. Maybe my tours couldn’t have come at a better time?
I like to test things. If the interest is there, great. If not, I'll move on.
Interested in getting your property in front of the KET audience? Get in touch directly and we can have a chat. 🧡
I am constantly trying to improve the content and information I share. What would you like to see more of? What would you like to see less of? What are we missing?
All feedback (positive or negative) greatly appreciated!
🍕Jamie’s Backyard Slice - Local business interview.
🍕Behind the business
On Sunday I caught up with Jamie as he was setting up his pizza pop up for a charity event. No studio. No script. Just an honest conversation mid set up.
We covered life as an independent business owner, how he came up with the name and how he got into the pizza game in the first place.
It started in his back garden. Some encouragement from friends. A leap of faith. Now he has a respected brand, a quality product and a future that looks bright. Even if the work life balance is a daily challenge.
The kind of story that reminds you why supporting local matters. Real people, real businesses, built from scratch, right here in Edinburgh and East Lothian.
Check out my chat with Jamie on our Insta page.
