Hey! Nashy here 👋
A busy weekend ahead with Six Nations Super Saturday and Mother’s Day on Sunday.
Hope you are all well and enjoying the changing seasons. Not long now until the clocks skip forward as we all look forward to longer days and summer nights.
Today I am off to Glasgow to complete in Hyrox for the first time! As a 42 year old, dad of three, training has been a challenge and the nerves are real!
It’s my daughter’s birthday on Saturday, she’s insisting on supporting Scotland and watching the rugby which is brilliant! Life is busy!
I’ve also been boots on the ground around town meeting some more brilliant local business owners.
Our Thriving Card now has 98 local and independent businesses registered and we are working away behind the scenes to launch ASAP. Huge thanks to every business for their support so far. If you want to register your business (there’s still time!) or find out more here.
This week's newsletter includes:

🏉Where to watch Six Nations Super Saturday
Let's get into it! 👇
Head back to the 90’s and Y2K with Stoodio Vintage
👖Vintage Vibes
There are some great streets in Edinburgh to find independent businesses and Thistle Street is a beauty.
On a recent wander, I was walking past Stoodio Vintage when the owner, Susannah walked out. A quick hello and five minutes later we were recording a video. Susannah is as passionate about fashion as she is about supporting her neighbours and other local businesses
She took the opportunity to shout about her neighbours; Cobbled Roastery, Laura Bond Jewellery, Fishers and SMI Apparel & Lifestyle who all sit close by on Thistle Street.
Susannah also announced that her old shop at 25a Thistle Street will now be used as a pop-up shop for other local creatives and business owners to use.
Edinburgh has a brilliant vintage clothing scene and Stoodio is a local favourite. Lots to explore on Thistle Street, I’d highly recommend a visit.

🍔How well do you know your burgers?
So many good burger joints in Edinburgh! Can you guess who serves up this bad boy?

🍔THE MAMA MELT: Because Mum deserves better than burnt toast in bed!
Double smashed beef patty, sautéed mushrooms, melted Swiss, crispy peppered bacon, crunchy onion rings and house garlic aioli. Big, messy, and absolutely worth it.
Available all week in Edinburgh for Mother’s Day Week. Bring mum… or just come hungry!
But where can you get it?
Step into The Cave for Coffee
🔥 Coffee, pastries and merch!
Seven days a week, The Coffee Cave has you covered. It was clear to see how well supported and loved The Cave is when I had to leave due to how busy it was and sneak back later to actually film with Ali.
A busy wee place that offers pastries, merch and Ali tells me “good chat”! Another place that I have driven past many times and I’m glad I got to stop by this week.
Fountainbridge has quite a few local options with good cafes, restaurants and bars, I’ll do my best to get back along soon to discover more however, The Cave was a strong start. Ali has built a great brand and works with Edinburgh coffee roasters like Black Dog Coffee and Carter Coffee making everything feel especially local.
Most definitely worth a visit!
